Meetings

All meetings in the Arundel Castle Cricket Pavilion, at 7:30pm unless stated otherwise.

11th January: Talk by Stephen Field of Sussex Sharks (Blind Cricket).

8th February: Training Evening to include an in depth discussion on a couple of laws, quiz and latest examination module.

14th March: Dave Brooks, CEO of Sussex County Cricket Club who also plays recreational cricket.

Forthcoming courses in our area include:

Level 1 Umpires


Horsham CC - Sundays from 30th October 2011 for 3 weeks, 9.30am - 4.00pm

Arundel Castle CC - Sundays 29th January, 2012 for 3 weeks, 9.30am - 4.00pm

Course costs £85, which includes the course workbook, the MCC Laws booklet, a copy of Tom Smith's Cricket Umpiring and Scoring (2000 Code 4th Edition 2010), and membership of the ECB Association of Cricket Officials. This provides free insurance cover and a free CRB check, which all Umpires and Scorers must now hold in order to officiate any game.

Ongoing membership of the ECB Association of Cricket Officials is not mandatory, but highly recommended, if only for the free insurance cover and free CRB check. You should bear in mind that membership of ECB ACO is mandatory if you intend umpiring ECB controlled matches. Membership currently costs £30 per year.
